Last week I was at the Best of Britannia show, in Clerkenwell's historic Farmiloe Building. On show were all manner of British designed & made luxury goods, including lots of great contemporary jewellery, fashion & home accessories, vintage furniture, eccentric tailoring, cult bicycles, custom built jukeboxes, & delicious lobster rolls served from a converted VW camper van. I was sharing a pitch with the delightful Claire English & Pip Jolley, & we played host to a stream of lovely visitors. LONDON TATTOO CONVENTION
A couple of weeks ago I found myself at the London Tattoo Convention. Housed in Wapping’s Tobacco dock, E1, this was the 9th year of the event, which saw the cream of international tattoo artists convene to display their skills, along with live music from the likes of urban voodoo machine & fun lovin’ criminals, circus & cabaret performers from burlesque to sword swallowing, & (most importantly) shopping! I set up a stall with the fantastic miss Ali Forbes & her bold & beguiling ‘'urban folklore’ collection, & had lots of lovely visitors.
